FAQs (Frequently asked questions)
Q. I'm very worried about sending you my photographs
as I haven't got any negatives. What guarantee can you give me that
my photos will be okay?
A. We are a small family run business. We appreciate
that your photographs are very precious, and in most cases irreplacable.
As such we will guarantee to treat every single photograph you send
us as if it were our own. We have never lost or damaged a single
customer's photograph and we do not intend to start now. Word of
mouth is very powerful, and in most cases where a lot of our orders
come from. So it is in our interest to be exremely careful with
photographs too. For that reason we will only accept orders, and
return them by recorded delivery.
Q. How long will it take?
A. Our most popular question. We aim to turn all
of our orders round within 14 days and thats what we'll say, but
you'll hopefully find you receive the order much sooner than that.
As these presentations make perfect gifts from about mid november
onwards we start to get very busy, we aim despatch anything sent
by the 15th November so you receive it in time for Christmas
Q. What if I am unhappy with
the DVD you send?
A. The order form makes your request very clear
to us. If we have made a mistake we will rectify it. All we can
say additionally about your hapiness, is that so far we have yet
to receive a complaint. We are confident you will not be our first
one.
Q. I want a song playing that
I haven't got. Where can I get it.
A. There are now various websites from which you
can purchase single tracks. We will purchase the music on your behalf
from one of these sites. The cost to do this is built into the price.
Doing it this way also ensures that neither yourself our ourself
infringes anyone's copyright.
Q. I don't want to send my
photographs, but I've got a copy of them on disc. Can I send this
instead?
A. Yes you can. We can accept digital images on
CF (Compact Flash), MD (Microdrive), SM (SmartMedia), SD (Secure
Digital), MMC (Multimedia Card), MS (Memory Stick), in addition
to this we can also accept the images on either CD or DVD. Please
ensure the files are numbered in the order you would like them displayed.
Please make sure the images have been scanned at 300 dpi or above,
anything less and you will notice on the final DVD.
Q. Some of the photos I've
got are creased. Can anything be done about it?
A. We will do as much as we can when we enhance
the pictures. Some damage may still be very obvious. Please remember
though that these pictures will never get any better. If it is a
picture that has special meaning, creased or not, the meaning will
still be there. See optimisation
page.
Q. How many photos will make
a good presentation.
A. Only you know the answer to this, all we can
offer is a guide. If you want to preserve all of your photographs
then we would have to say every single one is important and should
be included. As the majority of the presentations that we do are
obviously for gifts, please avoid the mistake where you include
that many photographs that people lose interest. As a rough guide,
if its a gift 10-15 minutes is usually fine. Wedding photographs
presented this way can usually take anything upto 30 minutes. Again
a rough guide only, each photograph including transition
will be displayed for around 6 seconds. Thats 10 photographs per
minute.
Q. Will I have to watch the
DVD on a PC?
A. No, but you can if you want. Our DVD's will
work in most stand-alone players (the type most people have under
their TV). You will however need to ensure that your DVD player
will play recordable DVDs. Also please check which format you require
the DVD on, either DVD-R or DVD+R and complete the order from as
necessary.
Q. If I don't order a duplicate
DVD now can I order one in the future?
A. Yes, we will hold a 'master copy' of your DVD
for a period of 6 months. If you require a duplicate after this
time you will need to re-send your photographs and we will have
to treat it like a brand new order (and charge accordingly).
Q. I require 'something special'
and can't find the boxes in the order form to request what I want.
A. We will endeavour to fulfil any need. If our
order form requires modifying to accomodate additional requests
this is something we will certainly do. Until then please feel free
to e-mail
us. Before e-mailing us please ensure the 'something
special' is something that we would find acceptable. (please see
order form)
